SOTG Associate Artist
Position Type: 1099 Contract | $65/hr | 2-6 hours, 1–2 days per week | 4–8 week sessions
Location: Onsite at partner schools in Southern California
Overview
Ballr Media Group is seeking Associate Artists to support the Student of the Game (SOTG) leadership program. This role focuses on guiding high school students (Grades 9–12) through creative projects, including mural design and execution, while integrating leadership, and a capstone school mural project.
Responsibilities
Lead and co-facilitate mural-based curriculum sessions in schools and youth organizations.
Provide artistic mentorship, demonstrating techniques for large-scale projects.
Support students in visualizing and executing a capstone mural project.
Collaborate with instructors to ensure program goals (leadership, teamwork, self-expression) are achieved.
Maintain professional, reliable communication with school partners and program staff.
Requirements
3–5 years of experience in mural work or medium-to-large-scale public art projects.
Portfolio submission: 3–6 pieces OR link to online portfolio.
Must be 18 or older with reliable transportation.
Must pass a DOJ criminal background check and TB test (required before placement).
Strong communication, mentoring, and group facilitation skills.
Additional Information
1099 independent contractor role.
Ballr Media Group (BMG) is a DOJ-approved agency with full coverage insurance.
All required supplies and materials are provided by BMG.

Support students in developing personal goals, teamwork skills, and self-confidence.
Work alongside Associate Artists to connect classroom lessons with mural project execution.Document attendance, participation, and progress for program reporting.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for students.
Requirements
Experience working with youth in education, after-school programs, or community settings.
Background in arts, leadership, social-emotional learning, or youth development preferred.
Must be 18 or older with reliable transportation.
Must pass a DOJ criminal background check and TB test (required before placement).
Strong facilitation, communication, and classroom management skills.
